Dehong Normal University (DHNU), founded in 1955, is a full-time national public undergraduate university and supervised by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education. The university is located in Mangshi, the capital city of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, China and also the hub city of Yunnan-Myanmar transportation and China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline.
At present, there are 8,521 students and 481 teachers, of whom 159 are with professional and technical positions at or above the deputy senior level, including 35 with senior professional and technical titles. 251 teachers hold Master’s degrees or above, including 14 doctoral degrees holders and 11 doctoral candidates.
The campus covers an area of 990.21 mu or 660,140 square meters. The total teaching and research equipment assets are worth RMB 129,303,500 yuan. There are 1,059,800 books and 200,000 e-books in the library. The university contains 11 schools including School of Humanities, School of Education and School of Information, etc., providing over 40 specialties.
DHNU is based in Dehong, facing Yunnan, radiating surrounding countries. The university serves the economic and social development of Dehong, Pilot Free Trade Zone in Dehong, Yunnan, China, the construction of Ruili National Key Development and Opening Pilot Zone and the “Belt and Road” initiative. DHNU aims to establish an outstanding border university. Now the university has established extensive cooperation with colleges and universities, governmental and educational departments and research institutions in Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.
DHNU has also successfully been approved as a test center of HSK (Chinese proficiency test). Over 300 international students have passed the HSK Level 4 or above here. At present, the university has an excellent teaching and management team and has accumulated rich theoretical and practical experience in the education and talent cultivation of international students.
