
On the afternoon of September 25, 2024, accompanied by the Dehong Prefecture Trade Chamber’s Commercial Representative Office in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, a three-member educational exchange delegation of Dehong Teachers’ College arrived at Yezin Agricultural University to attend the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic cooperation and exchange. The ceremony was attended by President Dr. Nang Hseng Hom, Vice President Dr. Hla Than, and deans of various departments of Yezin Agricultural University.
Yezin Agricultural University, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation of Myanmar, is a prestigious institution dedicated to agricultural education, cultivating qualified professionals, and advancing agricultural research and extension in Myanmar. In December 2018, the educational exchange delegation from Dehong Teachers’ College first visited Yezin Agricultural University, initiating discussions on faculty exchanges, agricultural discipline development, and vocational training. In September 2023, Vice President Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Win of Yezin Agricultural University visited Dehong Teachers’ College, expressing appreciation for the college’s achievements in agriculture and proposing collaboration in agricultural cultivation, technology, and vocational education. Building on mutual trust and efforts, the two institutions finalized the MOU signing.
In his speech, President Dr. Nang Hseng Hom emphasized that 2024 marks the centennial anniversary of Yezin Agricultural University. He expressed great honor in signing the MOU with Dehong Teachers’ College during this milestone, highlighting hopes for extensive cooperation in faculty exchanges, academic seminars, teaching workshops, and student internships. Vice President Su Junguo of Dehong Teachers’ College stated that the partnership would deepen collaboration in teaching, research, talent cultivation, and faculty exchanges between two sides.
The signing of the MOU holds significant importance for enhancing the teaching and research capabilities of agricultural disciplines, fostering Sino-Myanmar agricultural talent, and promoting mutual development. Both institutions will leverage their strengths to strengthen specialties, build renowned academic brands, and achieve more fruitful outcomes in agricultural fields.
